Web site tracking tools enable you to find out a variety of information about your visitors. Typically for instance, the number of visitors to a page, where they came from and possibly which search engine query they used to find your site.

There are many reasons for tracking your website, but perhaps the main one is that it helps you to understand the experience of the visitor to your site. You could find out, for example:

• How many people visited your site
• What keywords they used to get there
• How often they come back
• What pages are looked at
• Which pages aren't looked at
• What percentage of your visitors turn into customers?

There are many tools, free and not free to help you keep track of visits to your site. I like to use Google Analytics, or Sitemeter but am happy to discuss your requirements.
